What Is Nad+ & What Is Its Role In Cellular Respiration?

Nicotinamide riboside (NR) is transformed in your body into NAD+, a helper molecule found in all of your cells and essential for a prolonged and active life. What is NAD+, and what is its role in your body? RELATED: Carnosine – miracle supplement?   What Is NAD+ and Things You Should Know What is NAD+? Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is referred to as NAD in medical terminology. It’s found in everything from bacteria to primates and plays a critical role in cellular metabolism. In fact, we couldn’t live without NAD+. The chemical is crucial to the mitochondria’s ability to generate energy. While NAD+ aids in food conversion to energy, it also plays a crucial function in DNA integrity maintenance. NAD+ ensures that our body’s defense genes are working correctly and protects us from illness and aging.   What Is NAD+ Function in the Body? NAD+ functions as a shuttle bus, transporting electrons from one biological molecule to the next. Along with its chemical counterpart, NADH, it participates in a variety of metabolic processes involving electron exchange. These metabolic processes produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the body’s “energy” molecule. ATP synthesis may be inhibited if NAD+ levels are insufficient. NAD+ also regulates the sleep/wake cycle, among other things. NAD+ activates sirtuins, which control metabolism and keep chromosomes stable. The molecule also aids in the repair of damaged DNA.   What Is NAD+ Connection with Age? As humans age, their NAD+ levels decrease, which has significant consequences for metabolic function and age-related illnesses (it would be helpful to put a graph here of how NAD decreases with age)   Credit: Age-Associated Changes In Oxidative Stress and NAD+ Metabolism In Human Tissue DNA damage accumulates as individuals age. PARP, an enzyme, is activated when DNA is damaged. PARP relies on NAD+ to carry out its DNA repair functions. In this mechanism, PARP degrades NAD+. Immune system enzymes also use NAD+. The enzyme uses more NAD+ when the immune system becomes more active. As we age, the number of enzymes in our immune system rises, depleting NAD+ levels in the body.   What Is NAD+ Role in Cellular Respiration NAD+ is an electron carrier that picks up electrons during cellular respiration. When NAD+ accepts an electron, it is reduced and forms NADH. NADH transports electrons all the way to the Electron Transport Chain, where they are dropped off. This will allow protons to be pushed over a concentration gradient, allowing ATP Synthase to churn and produce ATP in the end. Fermentation happens only in anaerobic circumstances, which means it occurs when cellular respiration is not feasible. However, both fermentation and cellular respiration need glycolysis, an anaerobic process that converts 1 Glucose into 2 Pyruvates. What happens afterward is what distinguishes them. After glycolysis for fermentation, either two lactates (in lactic acid fermentation) or two ethanols can be produced (in Alcohol Fermentation). The main goal of fermentation is to replenish NAD+ in the absence of oxygen.   What is NAD+ Supplement? As we become older, our bodies generate fewer NAD+, which is why more individuals are turning to modern-day means of restoring their body’s healthy NAD+ levels. Other variables, such as poor sleeping patterns, prolonged stress, and drug usage, have an influence on our body’s synthesis of NAD+. NAD+ may be supplemented in your body in two ways: NAD+ oral supplements NR or NMN (Nicotinamide mononucleotide), or via NAD IV infusions. There are some  differences between NAD+ supplement (or NAD supplement) and NAD IV infusion:   Convenience If your job requires you to move about all day, you may prefer the simplicity of taking a daily tablet. On the other hand, NAD IV infusion needs quite some time, from one to even four hours, to finish a session.  Most people will experience a “flushing” sensation that can be quite uncomfortable at the beginning.  This goes away by slowing down the rate of the IV infusion   Effectiveness NAD+ oral supplements are not fully absorbed by your digestive system, which dilutes any possible advantages. The effectiveness of the NAD+ oral supplements also differs from person to person, depending on your circulatory system, stomach emptying time, and bodily response to the supplement.  As mentioned above, NAD+ supplements are given as NR or NMN which breaks down into NAD+ in your body. Unlike NAD+ oral supplement dietary pills, which have a poor absorption rate and are ineffective, IV therapy treatments give 100% absorption. Infusion treatment distributes NAD+ and other beneficial vitamins directly into your circulation, where it is instantly available for utilization by your cells.   If you have questions about NAD+ or any conditions discussed here, connect with us and learn more. Causes & Symptoms Of Estrogen Dominance In Men

When you think of estrogen, you think of the female body; that’s true. However, did you know that the male body also has estrogen? When the estrogen level in the male body is higher than usual, it can lead to estrogen dominance. What are the causes and symptoms of estrogen dominance in men? RELATED: “Fasting while Eating” – The Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD)   Estrogen Dominance And How It Can Affect You What Is Estrogen Dominance in Men? Men’s testosterone production decreases as they age, especially over the age of 50. To make matters worse, testosterone is frequently “stolen” or diverted as a result of the increased testosterone-to-estrogen conversion exacerbated particularly in men with belly fat. Aromatase, an enzyme, is responsible for the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. It just so happens that belly fat contains high levels of aromatase. Belly fat contributes to aromatization in a vicious cycle: the more estrogen men have, the more difficult it is to shed fat and gain muscle, which means testosterone conversion to estrogen worsens. Although the male body requires estrogen to operate properly, too much estrogen can create health issues. Stubborn belly fat is only one of the side effects of male estrogen dominance. Excess estrogen can also induce tiredness, decreased sex desire, ED, mood changes, and an increased risk of prostate cancer. Men can develop painful nipples and gynecomastia (also known as “man boobs”) when estrogen levels are extremely high in comparison to testosterone.   Estrogen Dominance Symptoms The high level of estrogen in a male body can create all sorts of health problems: Erectile dysfunction(ED). Increased estrogen levels can disrupt the hormonal balance required to achieve and maintain an erection. This is especially true if you have low testosterone. Delayed puberty. In boys, too much estrogen can cause delayed puberty and short stature. Gynecomastia. swelling or enlargement of breast tissue Infertility. High estrogen levels can delay sperm production and make it more difficult to produce healthy sperm. Depression   In addition, increases in estrogen levels in males can also be a sign of these conditions: Hyperthyroidism, or overactive thyroid Diabetes Cirrhosis Tumors of the adrenal glands or testicles   According to research on the impact of estrogen on migraines, guys with greater estrogen levels may be at a higher risk of experiencing migraines. In a study of men over the age of 50, researchers discovered a relationship between high estrogen levels and diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis, an autoimmune illness. Participants with very high estrogen levels had a greater chance of cardiac involvement or death.   Causes of Estrogen Dominance Your body can produce a lot of estrogens on its own or in conjunction with low amounts of testosterone. In addition, certain substances and medications can increase the estrogen levels in the men body, such as: Herbs or other natural substances like ginseng and ginkgo Certain antibiotics Phenothiazines (a medicine used in treating mental conditions)   High estrogen levels can also be affected by your genetic makeup.  your genes.  Due to our genes, Everyone is different in how they metabolize hormones such as testosterone and estrogen.  At Peak Human, you can get a test of your DNA to find out if you are predisposed to high estrogen levels. Furthermore, several medical disorders can place you at risk of high estrogen levels, such as: Weight gain or obesity (as discussed above) Certain tumors Stress Conditions affecting hormone balances like hypogonadism Diseases that affect the liver   How to Deal with Estrogen Dominance Medication Though they are not typically suggested as a therapy, they can assist individuals in lower estrogen levels if clinically required. These medicines are available in the form of anastrozole (Arimidex) or exemestane (Aromasin). Natural aromatase inhibitors include wild nettle root, maca, and grapeseed extract. However, remember to ask your healthcare provider before using any of these options.   Lifestyle changes One of the most common and effective ways to treat any disease or condition is to make alterations to your diet and daily routine. A low-fat, high-fiber diet is often suggested for estrogen level management. Some foods that may be included in this type of diet are: Flaxseed and sesame seeds, whole grains such as corn, oats, and rice contain micronutrients call polyphenol Portobello and shiitake mushrooms naturally reduce aromatase Cruciferous vegetables (such as broccoli and kale) contain compounds that inhibit estrogen synthesis. Pomegranates are high in estrogen-blocking phytochemicals.   Staying in shape is also important. Exercise regularly; it’s recommended that working out from 30 minutes to 1 hour every day can help prevent estrogen dominance and increase circulation in the body. Get a body fat measurement done. Generally, the ideal range for males is 15%-19% and for females 20%-24%. Estrogen dominance can be a very serious condition if left untreated because it could lead to various other health complications. Therefore it’s best to notice any difference in the body and seek medical attention.   If you have questions about Estrogen Dominance or any of the conditions discussed here, connect with us and learn more.  At Peak Human, our team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to helping you reach your ‘peak’ health with a custom whole-person approach. 7 Significant Health Benefits Of CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10)

Coenzyme Q10, commonly known as CoQ10, is a molecule that aids in the production of energy in your cells. Research has pointed out that low levels of CoQ10 can lead to various conditions like brain disorders, diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. So what is CoQ10? And how does it affect our health? RELATED: Mushrooms with Yarrow Willard – Peak Human Labs Podcast   What is Coenzyme Q10? Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a chemical compound in your body and stored in your cells’ mitochondria. The mitochondria are in charge of energy production. They also shield cells from oxidative stress and disease-causing germs and viruses. As you become older, your body’s ability to produce CoQ10 declines leading to various conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, brain disorders, and cancer. Here are some food sources that contain a lot of CoQ10: Legume: peanuts, soybean, lentils Fruits: strawberries and oranges Muscle meat: chicken, beef, pork Organ meats: liver, heart, kidney Oils: canola oil, soybean Nuts and seeds: pistachios and sesame seeds Vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, spinach Fatty Fish: herring, sardine, mackerel, and trout   In addition, you can also get CoQ10 through supplements. The typical CoQ10 dosage varies from 90 mg to 200 mg per day, so you might need to ask your doctor before taking them. With that in mind, check out the benefits of CoQ10.   Skin Benefits Harmful elements can cause decreased skin hydration and protection from environmental aggressors, as well as skin layer thinning. By boosting energy generation in skin cells and improving antioxidant defense, using CoQ10 directly to the skin can reduce damage from internal and external factors. CoQ10 applied directly to the skin has been found to prevent oxidative damage caused by UV radiation and even to diminish wrinkle depth.   Helps with Diabetes Cell damage can be caused by oxidative stress. This can lead to metabolic disorders such as diabetes. Insulin resistance has also been linked to abnormal mitochondrial activity. CoQ10 has been proven to increase insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation. In another research, individuals with type 2 diabetes were given CoQ10 supplements for 12 weeks. Fasting blood sugar levels and hemoglobin A1C, which are the average blood sugar levels over the previous two to three months, were considerably lowered as a result.   Increases Exercise Performance Oxidative stress and abnormal mitochondrial function can reduce muscle function, energy and drastically decrease your performance. CoQ10 can improve exercise performance by lowering oxidative stress in cells and increasing mitochondrial function. One research study looked at the impact of CoQ10 on physical activity. Those who took 1,200 mg of CoQ10 each day for 60 days had lower oxidative stress.   Good for Your Brain Mitochondria are the primary energy producers in brain cells. Mitochondrial function decreases with age. Total mitochondrial malfunction can result in the loss of brain cells and illnesses such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. This oxidative damage increases the creation of toxic chemicals, which may have an impact on memory, cognition, and physical functioning. CoQ10 has the potential to decrease these toxic chemicals delaying the course of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.   Reduces Headaches Abnormal mitochondrial function can result in increased calcium absorption by cells, increased free radical generation, and reduced antioxidant defense. This can result in low energy levels in brain cells and even headaches. Because CoQ10 is found primarily on the mitochondria of cells, it has been proven to increase mitochondrial activity and aid in the reduction of inflammation that may occur during migraines. Research has shown that supplementing with CoQ10 can significantly reduce the number of migraines. Additionally, another different study found that 1550 people with low CoQ10 levels had fewer severe migraines after treatment with CoQ10.   Helps Treat Heart Failure Heart failure happens when these problems damage the heart to the point where it cannot contract, relax, or pump blood throughout the body regularly. To make matters worse, certain heart failure medications have unwanted side effects such as low blood pressure. While others may raise blood pressure, CoQ10 lowers it even further. In a study of 420 patients with heart failure, two years of CoQ10 therapy relieved their symptoms and lowered their chance of dying from heart issues. In another research study, 641 individuals were given CoQ10 or a placebo for a year. At the end of the trial, individuals in the CoQ10 group were hospitalized less frequently for worsening heart failure and had fewer severe complications.   Prevents Cancer Among the benefits of CoQ10, this is probably the most promising. It helps medical experts take another step in the fight against cancer. Low CoQ10 levels have been linked to a 53.3 percent increased risk of cancer and a poor prognosis for several forms of cancer. CoQ10 can protect cells from oxidative stress and increase cellular energy generation, improving their health and lifespan. Furthermore, a study suggests that supplementing with CoQ10 with the medication interferon can help reduce the chance of cancer recurrence.   If you have questions about CoQ10 or any of the health problems discussed here, connect with us and learn more.  At Peak Human, our team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to helping you reach your ‘peak’ health with a custom whole-person approach. 3 Proven Ways To Reverse Biological Age By Three Years

Do you know that researchers and scientists have found new ways to turn back the clock and reverse your biological age by years? How did they do it? RELATED: The Science Behind PRP   Ways for You to Reverse Your Biological Age What Is Your Age? There are actually two answers to this question. The obvious one is your chronological age: the number of birthdays you have had. The other one is your biological age. Your biological age is the cellular age of your body — how well your organs, hormones, muscles, and brain function, and how much wear and tear your cells have gone through. In recent years, researchers have developed methods to determine biological age. They also observed that biological age is a far better predictor of lifespan than chronological age. It is possible to be 50 years old chronologically with a biological age of 30 if you take good care of yourself. Conversely, if you consume garbage and ignore your body, you may have a biological age of 50 by the time you reach your 30th birthday. You can modify your biological age to make your body younger with the appropriate tools, and you can do it faster than you would imagine. RELATED: DNA Genetic Testing – Worth it?   Trigger Autophagy One of the ways to reverse your biological age is to make changes to your diet and your lifestyle. Get rid of your bad, unhealthy habits. Autophagy is like spring cleaning for your cells. It’s Greek for “self-eating,” and that’s precisely what autophagy does: your cells sift through their various components, removing anything old or damaged and replacing it with a whole new version. Even better, much of the waste is recycled and repackaged into new materials that your body can use. Autophagy maintains your cells fresh and new, allowing them to run faster while creating less cellular waste. Your entire system gets more efficient. However, when autophagy breaks down, your cells age, and you age with them – disrupted autophagy leads to much accelerated aging indicators. You can trigger autophagy by: Work out. Exercising is among the most effective ways to turn on autophagy. Studies show that exercising increases cellular turnover and gets rid of the damaged cellular parts linking to decreased aging. Practice fasting such as periodic fasting, intermittent fasting or time-restricted feeding. In which you go for brief periods without eating and then eat until you’re satisfied. According to experts, intermittent fasting causes “profound autophagy.” Fasting is also associated with longer life and a healthy aging process.   Upgrade Your Mitochondria Your mitochondria are your cells’ power plants; they produce the energy that powers everything your body does, from breathing to moving to thinking. As you become older, your mitochondria slow down, and you create less and less energy. Slower mitochondria are a sign of the aging process. They are associated with weariness, reduced muscle mass and cognitive function, poor cardiovascular health, and other symptoms. Healthy mitochondria will not only give your heart and muscle strength but also can potentially reverse your biological age. Here are the tricks to upgrade your mitochondria: Do high-intensity interval training (HIIT). HIIT improves mitochondrial energy generation dramatically. It also raises the maximum amount of energy that your mitochondria can generate, providing you with a more significant energy reserve in everyday life. Have a keto diet. A keto diet boosts mitochondrial density in mice’s liver and skeletal muscles. Ketosis improves mitochondrial activity and protects them from stress-related damage in humans. If a complete keto diet isn’t working for you, consider a cyclical keto diet or a targeted keto diet. Both allow you to eat more carbohydrates while still reaping the benefits of ketosis.   Control Stress Stress accelerates the aging process more than anything else. If you want proof, look at photographs of presidents before and after they were elected. They appear to have aged 20 years after a term or two of round-the-clock strain and stress. There are two ways that stress can affect your biological age. The first one is to increase free radicals, which are compounds that damage your cells and cause inflammation. It can also lead to speeding up aging at a cellular level. Second, stress can get in the way of cortisol production. Cortisol is the hormone released in reaction to an imminent threat; it slows down non-essential systems such as metabolism and executive brain function, conserving energy to escape whatever danger you are in. Cortisol also degrades muscle tissue, allowing you to have more glucose in your system for short-term fuel. When you are constantly exposed to low-level stresses, your cortisol levels rise, interfering with your metabolism, cognitive function, muscle mass, and other functions. You’ll wind up aging faster than you would have otherwise. You can get your stress under control with: Yoga and meditation Have a healthy diet Quit smoking Reduce stress trigger Reduce alcohol and caffeine intake Exercise   If you have questions about biological age or any of the aging problems discussed here, connect with us and learn more. 5 Science-Backed Benefits Of DHH-B Supplements To Our Body

According to research, DHH-B stimulates cannabinoid receptors all over the body. Because these receptors have a role in immune systems, pain alleviation, and disease prevention, activating them lowers inflammation, reduces pain, and improves mood. RELATED: The Scoop on Improving Brain performance with Binaural Beats   DHH-B a Natural Supplement with Various Health Benefits What Is DHH-B? Dihydro Honokiol-B (DHH-B) is derived from the bark of the magnolia tree, which has been utilized for millennia in different traditional treatments. Magnolia bark and its potent extracts have been found to treat anxiety in ways comparable to benzodiazepines (a commonly prescribed sleep medication) but without the adverse side effects. Honokiol is the most well-studied and well-known of these Magnolia Bark compoundsi. DHH-B (dihydro honokiol-B) is a more potent honokiol extract; in fact, it is believed to be 20 times stronger than the natural Magnolia Bark (Honokiol) supplement.   Benefits of DHH-B 1. DHH-B Improves Sleep Honokiol and magnolol, two polyphenols contained in magnolia bark, have been shown to aid initiate and enhance sleep. As a result, magnolia bark can be utilized to treat insomnia or just to encourage better sleep in general. In research on mice models, a magnolol dosage of 2.3–0.9 mg per pound (5–25 mg per kg) of body weight dramatically reduced sleep latency or the time it takes to fall asleep. Furthermore, the magnolol appeared to increase the number of times the mice awoke during sleep while decreasing the amount of time they were awake.   2. DHH-B Helps Release Stress and Anxiety The magnolia extract in the DHH-B appears to have protective properties against various neurological conditions. This does include not only Alzheimer’s but also conditions such as mood disorders, anxiety, stress, and depression. Research of 40 women between the ages of 20 and 50 discovered that consuming 250 mg of magnolia and Phellodendron bark extract three times a day resulted in better alleviation of short-term and transient anxiety than taking a placebo. A Second research study of the same magnolia and Phellodendron bark extract in 56 people found that taking 500 mg per day resulted in considerably reduced cortisol levels and better mood. Cortisol is the stress hormone in the body. If the level of cortisol decreases, it indicates that the overall stress level also drops. In addition, a study in mice found that a combination of magnolol and honokiol had antidepressant-like effects, including increases in serotonin levels in the brain and decreases in corticosterol levels in the blood.   3. DHH-B Improves Menopause Symptoms The magnolia bark in DHH-B is proven to be beneficial for women during menopause; it helps with their sleep and mood swings. A study showed that women who experienced anxiety attacks and insomnia drastically improved after taking DHH-B during the 24 weeks of study.   4. DHH-B May Prevent Cancer Various research on honokiol suggests the use of this polyphenol in magnolia bark as a therapeutic for cancer treatment and prevention. One method in which honokiol may prevent cancer is by helping control cell signaling pathways. Given that cancer is a disease defined by aberrant cell division and development, the capacity to control biological pathways is beneficial. A 2019 review research revealed that honokiol had demonstrated the potential to inhibit tumor growth in the brain, breast, colon, liver, and skin, among other organs. Furthermore, honokiol may not only have anti-cancer qualities alone but also assist in improving the efficiency of other anti-cancer and radiation treatment therapies. Furthermore, honokiol may not only have anti-cancer characteristics. Still, it may also assist in improving the efficacy of other anti-cancer and radiation medication treatments. Despite the need for additional thorough human trials, polyphenols show potential as an anti-cancer treatment in humans.   5. DHH-B Protects Against Effects of Inflammation It’s been suggested that the polyphenols in DHH-B can help fight the side effects of inflammation and oxidative stress. In research, the changes in the methane dicarboxylic aldehyde level are usually a sign of antioxidant activity. According to research in mice, researchers believe that honokiol can help prevent aging by boosting the antioxidant enzymes and reducing levels of methane dicarboxylic aldehyde. Furthermore, oxidative stress is commonly believed to contribute to diabetes and its consequences. In a 2016 review, it was discovered that magnolia bark improved high blood sugar levels and diabetes problems in mice.   Where Can I Get DHH-B? Tendon Troubles? BPC-157 Has Potential to Transform Wound Healing and Rehabilitation

Peptides are gaining more and more attention over the years thanks to their various health benefits. One of which is BPC-157 which is said to have wound-healing effects. So is it true? RELATED: The Scoop on Improving Brain performance with Binaural Beats   Discussing the Wound Healing Effects of BPC 157 on Tendons, Ligaments, and More What Is BPC-157? BPC-157 is made up of 15 amino acids in a peptide chain (a string of amino acids in a particular sequence). BPC-157 is derived from a specific protective stomach protein. However, most scientists consider it synthetic due to its unusual peptide chain sequence, which does not occur naturally in nature. BPC-157 was given its name due to its capacity to repair bodily injuries swiftly, prevent central nervous system exhaustion from time-intensive activity, and maintain an anabolic condition post-workout. A series of experiments on lab rats utilizing BPC-157 revealed that the peptides had a substantial protective impact on the intestinal system as well as the stomach. BPC-157 peptides also showed a variety of additional advantages for stomach ulcers, fistulas, inflammatory disorders, and enhanced bone and joint repair.   How Does BPC-157 Work? Because BPC-157 is derived from a stomach protein, it is frequently used to treat stomach and intestine diseases such as fistulas, ulcers, and inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. BPC-157 has also been found to benefit patients who have suffered organ damage. It’s also great for lingering ailments that require tissue rejuvenation. It appears to function by speeding up the pace of angiogenic repair. Angiogenesis is a critical dynamic process in wound healing because it allows for the creation of new blood vessels from old ones and is involved in establishing a microvascular network. Additionally, BPC-157 dosage can vary depending on the condition or the personal health of the person. Overall, BPC-157 is an excellent choice for people suffering from joint discomfort, recovering from an injury, or seeking to enhance joint mobility.   BPC-157 Benefits BPC-157 research has been ongoing since 1991, with no known harmful consequences. In clinical studies, BPC-157 peptides can: Accelerate wound healing for ligament, muscle, nerve, and tendon Has anti-inflammatory properties Enhance digestive system Can impro NO production Has been shown to help Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome Increases growth hormone receptors Ease pain in the damaged areas Protect and heal leaky gut (also known as intestinal epithelium) Protects the liver from toxic insults such as antibiotics, alcohol and promotes healing   BPC-157 For Tendon Healing Besides the benefits discussed, the peptide is well-known for protecting against soft tissue injuries, such as tendons. A tendon is a flexible band of connective tissue positioned at the ends of muscles. When formed together, the bundle of tendons acts as a bridge connecting the muscles and bones, translating the contraction of muscles to the bones and joints. This tendon mechanism is crucial for overall physical performance because it allows us to move freely. It also plays a vital role in injury prevention. While doing high-intensity workouts or carrying heavy loads, a tendon mitigates the strain on bones and muscles by absorbing the impact. Despite the perfect design for protective function, tendon injuries are relatively common among athletes or gym enthusiasts. A few tendon injuries include Achilles, Peroneal Tendon, Patellar Tendon, and Glute. Injuries associated with tendons can occur from being overworked, accident, or aging and can be redeemed with physical therapies or simple interventions like resting or taking OTC painkillers. Other than that, the only way to fix a completely ruptured tendon is surgery. What makes tendon injury a big concern for most is that tendon is slow to heal fully, coming to around 12-16 weeks depending on the type of injury and tear. Moreover, new tendons are always weaker, leading to higher recurrence risks. That said, BPC-157 has been considered a new approach to tendon repair. The peptide promotes the regeneration of tendons by stimulating the formation of blood vessels. One research reveals that BPC-157 injections help rats with Achilles tendon injuries heal almost completely.   Is BPC-157 Safe? Peptide supplements are unlikely to produce significant adverse effects in healthy people because they are identical to peptides found in everyday meals. Though it is proven to be a safe and effective method to heal your damaged tendons and ligaments, it can also have some BPC-157 side effects. Oral peptide supplements may not enter the circulation because the body breaks them down into separate amino acids. The researchers did not see any adverse effects in one study in which females received oral collagen peptide supplements for 8 weeks. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States does not regulate supplements in the same manner that it controls pharmaceuticals. As a result, when using supplements, consumers should proceed with caution. Peptide-containing topical lotions and ointments may induce skin symptoms such as irritation, redness, and itching. Individuals should always purchase from a trustworthy provider and stop using if any bad responses develop. It is also a good idea to consult with a doctor before taking peptide supplements or utilizing peptide-containing topical treatments. Those who are pregnant, nursing, on medicines, or have a medical problem should avoid utilizing peptides until they consult with their doctor.   If you have questions about BPC-157 or any of the conditions discussed here, connect with us and learn more.  At Peak Human, our team of healthcare professionals is dedicated to helping you reach your ‘peak’ health with a custom whole-person approach. How Your Immune System Can Benefit From Peptide Therapy

It’s critical to have a robust immune system since it helps your body battle viruses, external infections, and diseases. Peptide therapy is a cutting-edge strategy designed to keep your immune system in top shape. RELATED: Peak Human Labs Podcast – Why I’m a Fan of Freak Fitness Online   What Is Peptide Therapy? Peptides are one of the newest fields of immunological research. Proteins are made up of peptides, which are short chains of linked amino acids. These amino acid chains are employed throughout your body to indicate cell changes. They bind to receptors on the outside of cells and instruct them to do things like produce hormones or repair damaged tissues. They also play a part in your immune system, causing immune cells to respond to intruders. Peptide therapy has been used to improve immune system function in immunocompromised cancer patients. In reality, there are over 60 FDA-approved peptide drugs on the market, with another 140 in clinical testing. Peptides are gaining popularity as a treatment since they have been demonstrated to be both safe and effective. The immune system and its function are greatly influenced by peptide treatment. Patients also report lean body mass gains, fat mass losses, and anti-aging advantages.   How Peptide Therapy Works Peptide therapy stimulates your pituitary gland and regulates your immune system by using specialized growth hormone secretagogues. These peptides are found and created naturally in your lymph system and thymus, both of which aid in the battle against sickness. Depending on how the peptides operate and what they’re supposed to do, you can take them as injections, pills, lotions, or nasal sprays. Sermorelin, Ipamorelin, and CJC-1295 are the most often used peptides. These “boosters” for growth hormones are found in the human body naturally. Growth hormone has a significant impact on the immune system and how it works. Immune system boosts are provided via peptide injections on a regular basis. Once in your body, peptides activate your immune system to combat external invaders such as viruses and bacteria. If your immune system has been weakened by illness or aging, peptide therapy may be able to help you get it back to normal strength. It can also aid persons with a healthy immune system.   Peptide Therapy and Immune System Peptide treatment is a relatively new strategy for treating autoimmune illnesses. Many functional medicine practitioners use peptide treatment as a remedial measure for an immune system out of whack. The thymus is used in peptide treatment for autoimmune illnesses to help balance the immune system. Thymosin Alpha-1 regulates the immune system by naturally boosting T cells to recognize and kill viruses, bacteria, and even tumor cells. As Thymosin Alpha 1 stimulates your body to respond to these invading invaders, your immune system naturally develops and strengthens. According to research, Thymosin Alpha 1 has been shown to modulate inflammation and immunity in a variety of illnesses, including systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Furthermore, studies have shown that it is beneficial against cancers of the colon, lung, breast, and other types.   Who Can Benefit from Peptide Therapy? Besides having a good impact on improving your immune system, peptide therapy also has many other benefits that and can be used for people who want to: Increase the speed of healing Hormones should be increased Increase your muscle mass. Reduce the pain in your joints and muscles. Improve memory and cognitive function Assist in the reversal of sexual dysfunction symptoms. Improve the quality of your sleep Boost your energy, stamina, and strength. Reduce your blood pressure. 5 Proven Health Benefits Of Liquid Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll is a pigment that helps plants stay healthy and green. It also contains antioxidants, vitamins, and therapeutic characteristics that can be beneficial to your health. Although you can get chlorophyll from plants, supplements are more effective because they survive digestion which is why liquid chlorophyll is a popular choice and one of the easiest ways to get this ‘superfood’ in your diet. RELATED: The Science Behind DHH-B | A Natural Supplement For Your Mood   Liquid Chlorophyll – An Antioxidant and Longevity-promoting Supplement What Is Liquid Chlorophyll? Chlorophyll is one of the most essential ingredients in plants and vegetables. It enables trees to absorb the sunlight and change it into energy. Chlorophyll does not dilute in water and is only weakly absorbed when it is in its natural liposoluble condition. This is why, for example, you can eat a lot of spinach and still get only a few of the chlorophyll advantages. That’s why many people take liquid chlorophyll supplements to reap the benefits. Chlorophyll supplements are, in fact, chlorophyllin, which is copper-based, meaning the compound is water-soluble, bioavailable, and therefore absorption is greatly enhanced. After taking chlorophyll, copper can be identified in plasma, indicating that it has been absorbed. Chlorophyll supplements are available in a variety of forms, including: Tablets Ointments Sprays Liquid   Liquid chlorophyll is one of the easiest ways to add this ‘superfood’ to your diet by adding it to water, juices, or sauces.   Liquid Chlorophyll Benefits When shopping for liquid chlorophyll, you will discover the following benefits:   1. Natural Deodorant Chlorophyllin has been used to neutralize certain odors since the 1940s. More recent research has shown that it helps reduce foul breath and bodily odors induced by perspiration, which is an obvious benefit for active persons. Acting as an internal deodorant, liquid chlorophyll aids with bad breath, sweat, feces, urine, food odors (such as garlic), and menstruation odors. People with colostomies also benefit from the deodorant effect. In a recent study of people with trimethylaminuria, a disorder that causes a fishy odor, chlorophyllin dramatically decreased the number of trimethylamines.   2. Aids Weight Loss One of the most prominent claims linked with liquid chlorophyll is weight loss support. In 2014 a team of researchers studied the effects of green-plant membranes in 38 overweight women. Those that took a green plant membrane supplement, including chlorophyll, lost more weight than the control group. The supplement may also lower dangerous cholesterol levels, according to experts.   3. Prevents Cancer Chlorophyll has anti-carcinogenic properties and is shown to exhibit potent antioxidant, antigenotoxic, and anticancer effects. According to one animal study in trout, chlorophyll reduced the frequency of stomach tumors by 24 to 45 percent and liver tumors by 29 to 63 percent, depending on the dose. A 2018 study looked at the impact of chlorophyll on pancreatic cancer cell proliferation. Researchers discovered that giving mice daily doses of oral chlorophyll reduced tumor size after human pancreatic cancer cells were transplanted. A small study of four people concluded chlorophyll might decrease ingested aflatoxin, a cancer-causing chemical in human trials. And a 2001 study from China showed that when compared to a placebo, chlorophyllin ingestion at each meal resulted in a 55 percent reduction in aflatoxin biomarkers. New trials are also being conducted to examine how chlorophyll-rich diets affect cancer risk.   4. Anti-inflammatory & Accelerates Healing The effects of liquid chlorophyll have been shown to be anti-inflammatory, reduce bacterial growth, and promote healing when applied directly to skin wounds. Several studies on ointments containing papain, urea, and chlorophyllin were included in a 2008 review of wound care research. According to the findings of two pilot trials, chlorophyllin may potentially be helpful for other skin diseases. A 2015 pilot study of ten persons with large pores and acne found that using topical chlorophyllin gel for three weeks improved their skin. Another ten-person pilot trial from 2015 found that applying topical chlorophyllin for eight weeks improved sun-damaged skin.   5. Enhances Blood Production Liquid chlorophyll promotes the production of red blood cells by improving the quality of the red blood cells. Chlorophyll also increases the production of white blood cells, fighting against conditions such as leukopenia. Because of this, chlorophyll protects blood-producing organs, prevents anemia, and provides an abundance of oxygen to the body. This, in turn, increases energy production and helps strengthen the immune system. In a 2002 trial in China, participants were given Shengxuening, an extract from silkworm excrement, to test the effects on blood production. The main components of Shengxuening are sodium iron chlorophyllin and chlorophyll derivatives. After one month, all adults showed a significant increase in hemoglobin (HGB) concentration.   Where to Get Liquid Chlorophyll? The Relationship Of Telomeres To Biological Aging Explained

Telomeres are a crucial component of human cells that influence how they age, so maintaining telomere length is critical for a healthy body. But how can you do this? RELATED: Senolytic Therapies as a Way to Improving Lifespan   Telomeres Explained Telomere (tel-uh-meer) from the Greek telos (end) and meros (part). Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strand of DNA that protect our chromosomes, like the plastic tips at the end of shoelaces. Telomeres shorten each time a cell divides and act as a clock that signals cells to age. Eventually, telomeres become so short that the DNA is unprotected, and cells stop functioning or die.   What is Biological Aging? When asked how old you are, you will most likely respond with the number of years since you were born. On the other hand, your doctor may claim that you have physiological conditioning that is significantly younger or older than your chronological age. Biological age testing is the ultimate indicator of longevity, regardless of how many years you’ve lived. But what is the significance of biological age? The distinction between chronological and biological age is based on the concept of aging. At a biological level, aging occurs when the body’s cells and tissues are degraded over time. Medical experts can use biological age to determine how well a person is aging, allowing them to devise optimization measures tailored to their patient’s current condition.   Short Telomeres are Connected to Premature Cellular Aging Telomere shortening is involved in all aspects of the aging process on a cellular level. Essentially our telomere length represents our biological age as opposed to our chronological age. Many scientific studies have shown a strong connection between short telomeres and cellular aging. Progressive telomere shortening causes apoptosis, senescence, or neoplastic transformation of somatic cells, compromising an individual’s health and lifespan. Shorter telomeres have been linked to an increased risk of disease. As a result, maintaining telomere length is critical for a healthy body. Short telomeres can hasten the natural aging process on a cellular level which also has an effect on our immune system. That’s where a compound like TA-65 comes in.   TA-65® TA-65® is a patented, all-natural, plant-based compound that can help maintain or rebuild telomeres that diminish as people get older. By activating telomerase, the TA-65® compound can help slow down and possibly reverse age and lifestyle-related telomere shortening. TA-65MD® nutritional supplements are the first in a line of products based on the TA-65® compound. TA-65MD® nutritional supplements are formulated through a proprietary process to increase the absorption (bioavailability) of the TA-65® compound in the body. This process helps ensure that the compound is not digested before it reaches the bloodstream, where it can then be delivered to our cells. TA-65MD® supplements have been proven safe and effective in more than a decade of studies and use by people worldwide and should be taken as part of an overall health and wellness regimen. Find out more or buy TA-65MD®.   Summary Telomeres are an essential part of human cells that affect how our cells age. Telomeres act as the aging clock in every cell. For a body to stay healthy, it is essential to maintain telomere length. TA-65MD® nutritional supplements have been proven to activate telomerase and lengthen telomeres.   If you have questions about telomeres, biological aging, or any of the conditions discussed here, connect with us and learn more. New Approach To Eliminating Senescent Cells

Does cellular senescence hold the secrets of anti-aging? This popular field of research is unearthing multiple discoveries in the search for drugs that target senescent cells and slow the ravages of old age. RELATED: Senolytic Therapies as a Way to Improving Lifespan   Have Researchers Found a Way to Reverse Aging? Senescent Cells Explained Senescence is the biological process that leads to aging. Senescent cells exist in a suspended state in the body – they can no longer divide to make new cells yet have ignored the order to expire. This becomes a factor in aging and some diseases because the senescent cells remain in the body discharging toxic chemicals. In essence, aging starts at birth, when cell division and growth is fastest, and gradually slows down as time goes on. As you age, more cells enter into a state of senescence. Senolytic drugs are among a class of small molecules currently under research to ascertain if they can selectively cause the death of or remove senescent cells and therefore improve health. Using senolytics to get rid of them has emerged as a promising therapeutic approach, but are there other options?   Natural Killer T Cells Help Removal of Senescent Cells A new paper by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) reports having found out how immune cells get rid of senescent cells naturally. Their discovery could influence new approaches and strategies in the treatment of age-related chronic diseases with immunotherapy. The research team investigated immune cells known as invariant Natural Killer T (iNKT) as an alternative to senolytics. These cells function a bit like a natural surveillance system, targeting and eliminating senescent cells. But, iNKT cells become more sluggish with age and factors that contribute to chronic disease. Piggybacking on the role of iNKT cells, the researchers found that they could get rid of senescent cells by using lipid antigens to switch on iNKT cells. Mice with lung fibrosis had less damaged cells, and mice with diet-induced obesity had improved blood glucose levels. After further investigation and trials, this could mean a potential immune therapy for senescence as well as a theory for advancing the next generation of processes to remove inflammatory senescent cells associated with chronic diseases.   Senolytic Drugs Alleviates Cognitive Decline Other researchers have focussed on the link between senescence and cognitive decline. A team from Mayo Clinic has investigated whether cognitive decline can be reversed. And findings have indicated that mice with signs of dementia had improved cognitive ability after senescent cells were removed using senolytic drugs. One cocktail of senolytic drugs found to significantly improved cognitive function in the mice was quercetin and dasatinib. These findings could provide the groundwork for future studies on the removal of senescent cells as a possible therapy for age-related cognitive decline in patients.   Senolytic Supplements as a Natural Antioxidant Senolytics help rid the body of senescent cells by using natural antioxidants found in healthy foods to seek out senescent cells and safely get rid of them, a process known as apoptosis. Fisetin, quercetin, resveratrol, and curcumin have been recognized as some of the more essential senolytics among food supplements. Quercetin, for example, is the most abundant flavonoid in the diet, and we can consume around 10–100 mg of it daily through various food sources. Quercetin is found in apples, berries, cherries, coffee, red wine, amongst other foods. Curcumin’s many benefits suggest its potential as an overall anti-aging supplement. Two huge factors that lead to Alzheimer’s disease are inflammation and oxidative damage, which curcumin may be able to treat.   If you have questions about senescent cells or any of the conditions discussed here, connect with us and learn more.
